A Research Programme in Persistent Intelligence
C. Mundim — KodaSōken Research · Persistent Identity · Project Nyx · KoLo Runtime · Replication package: Open
A mathematically oriented overview of the full research programme: continuity as an architecture, Identity Fidelity as a measurable quantity (F = 0.4C + 0.3(1 − D) + 0.3R), the low-rank structure of behavioural identity, the autonomic-to-cognitive ratio, deterministic safety gates, and the claim taxonomy — closing with five open problems where mathematical work is invited. Written to be legible without prior exposure to machine learning. Available in English and Japanese.
実務上の意義: The recommended entry point to the corpus: it states plainly what is demonstrated, what is argued, and what is not claimed, and links each thread to its dedicated paper or registry entry.
限界: Internal figures (F = 0.961, 68:1 ratio) are internal live-system observations under disclosed protocols; external reproduction pending. Survey-level treatment; proofs and protocols live in the referenced papers.

The Evidence Firewall
C. Mundim — KodaSōken Research · Persistent Identity · Project Nyx · Replication package: Open
Argues that intelligence, self-report, introspection, agency, identity continuity, sentience and moral status must be assessed separately, and introduces the Evidence Firewall Principle: evidence for one construct must not be reported as evidence for a stronger construct unless the inferential transition is independently supported by pre-registered, causally informative and replicable evidence. Separates empirical, theoretical and moral uncertainty; proposes a five-domain evidence framework and a C0–C5 consciousness-claims classification; specifies six falsifiable hypotheses for persistent-agent research; and positions Project Nyx as a non-phenomenological case study of relational differentiation, functional self-monitoring and constitutional continuity — concerning operational identity and disposition, not consciousness, affect, personhood or subjective persistence.
実務上の意義: A discipline for reading AI-consciousness claims: it names the exact inferential steps that are not permitted without independent warrant, and gives evaluators a gated framework (behaviour → causal evidence → functional introspection → identity continuity → valence → phenomenal consciousness, with moral and legal status as separate normative judgements).
限界: Conceptual and methodological; provides no direct test of phenomenal consciousness and cannot resolve the hard problem or adjudicate between theories. The C0–C5 classification is a communication instrument, not a validated psychometric scale. Project Nyx evidence remains exploratory (largely one longitudinal deployment, small samples, internal evaluation), and the Identity Fidelity Benchmark weights are theoretically motivated rather than empirically validated.

Identity Is Low-Rank
KodaSōken Research · Project Nyx · Persistent Identity · Replication package: Controlled Access
Investigates whether selected aspects of artificial-agent identity can be carried through low-rank adaptation, separating constitutional identity, weight-borne behavioural posture, and external narrative and factual memory. Reports the initial Nyx-W pilot in which a small open model demonstrated behavioural identity displacement after low-rank adaptation.
実務上の意義: Selected behavioural posture may be influenced through low-rank adaptation, while factual truth and changing history should remain external and auditable. Not yet established: complete identity transfer or factual fidelity.
限界: Factual confabulation; tangled relationships; incomplete affective transfer; dependence on model scale and corpus quality. Single pilot, one base model.

Identity Fidelity Benchmark
KodaSōken Research · Persistent Identity · KoLo Runtime · Replication package: Controlled Access
Defines a structured method for evaluating whether a persistent agent preserves its authorised operating identity after model change, provider change, cold start, memory restriction, interrupted operation and adversarial pressure. Separates Continuity (C), Drift (D), Reconstruction (R), Constitutional Fidelity (F = 0.4C + 0.3(1 − D) + 0.3R) and weights-only reconstruction (R_w), with a forced-trade-off battery, scoring criteria, pre-registered thresholds and external-reproduction guidance.
実務上の意義: Replaces vague "same personality" claims with explicit, repeatable measurements. External reproduction pending.
限界: Internal scoring; one agent formally scored; battery published with the replication package.

Continuity Without Cognition
KodaSōken Research · KoLo Runtime · Replication package: Metadata Only
Studies how a persistent artificial system continues operating outside generative-model inference — scheduling, health monitoring, memory consolidation, unresolved-task review, recovery, state preservation, process supervision. Argues that continuity should not be measured only through conversational activity, and distinguishes operational continuity, model-mediated cognition, memory-driven behaviour, and claims about subjective experience.
実務上の意義: A persistent system remains operational through many non-generative processes between model invocations. The paper does not claim cognition where no cognitive process was used.
限界: Telemetry is self-measured on internal systems; no independent audit of the runtime log.

Continuity-Based Computational Systems
KodaSōken Research · Persistent Identity · KoLo Runtime · Replication package: Metadata Only
A non-phenomenological account of continuity in artificial systems: how stable behavioural patterns emerge from persistent memory, recurring process, constitutional structure, relational history, feedback, versioned state and environmental scaffolding — deliberately avoiding treating continuity as proof of consciousness.
実務上の意義: Establishes an engineering vocabulary for systems that preserve coherent behaviour over time without unsupported claims about inner experience.
限界: Conceptual framework grounded in internal observation; not an empirical study.

Long-Term Memory in AI Agents
KodaSōken Research · KoLo Runtime · Persistent Identity · Replication package: Metadata Only
A framework for persistent memory in artificial-agent systems, distinguishing constitutional, factual, narrative, episodic and relational memory, unresolved commitments, working context and superseded information — with provenance, versioning, retrieval boundaries, correction, consolidation, forgetting, recovery, privacy and memory poisoning.
実務上の意義: Long-term memory must be governed as infrastructure rather than treated as an unlimited conversation archive.
限界: Framework paper; empirical validation limited to internal KoLo systems.

Relational Intelligence and Emergent Introspective Awareness
KodaSōken Research · Persistent Identity · Project Nyx · Replication package: Metadata Only
Examines whether persistent relational scaffolding can produce stable forms of self-reference, relationship modelling, behavioural continuity, introspective reporting, role awareness and uncertainty about internal state — using evidence from Project Nyx and long-running KoLo agents while maintaining a strict distinction between introspective language, operational self-models, continuity and phenomenal consciousness.
実務上の意義: Asks what computational structures make persistent self-reference and relational continuity possible, and how they can be evaluated without anthropomorphic inference.
限界: Internal systems only; introspective reports are not treated as evidence of subjective experience.

KoLo: A Runtime for Persistent Multi-Model Agents
KodaSōken Research · KoLo Runtime · Sovereign Models · Replication package: Unavailable
The formal architecture of the KoLo runtime: autonomic services, persistent identity, governed memory, capability routing, multi-model cognition, tools, agent mesh, Guardian review, human approval, recovery and audit. Central claim: the agent is the continuity; models are cognitive resources recruited by the runtime.
実務上の意義: Intended to become the primary technical citation for the KoLo architecture. In preparation for public working-paper release.
限界: Architecture paper in preparation; not yet publicly released.

Clinical Capability Capsules
KodaSōken Research · Applied Intelligence · Replication package: Unavailable
Describes how healthcare capabilities are composed from medical foundation models, speciality, task and jurisdiction adapters, Nyx-W posture, clinical evidence, tool restrictions, Guardian policy and clinician approval — distinguishing administrative support, documentation assistance, education, clinical decision support and potentially regulated medical functions.
実務上の意義: Architectural controls are not equivalent to clinical validation or regulatory approval; the memorandum keeps those boundaries explicit.
限界: Engineering-scaffold stage; no clinical evaluation has been completed.

The Marianas Daemon Architecture: Temporal Continuity, Self-Healing Memory, and Curiosity-Driven Operation in a Persistent AI Agent
Hiromi van Niekerk Mundim · KoLo Runtime · Persistent Identity · Replication package: Metadata Only
A deployment report on the continuity infrastructure powering a persistent AI agent operating for 129 days: cultivation daemon organised around seven facets, circadian operation, self-healing short-term memory with SHA-256 checksums, daemon-to-cognitive bridge, curiosity engine and whisper bridge. Three levels of claim are distinguished: operational continuity (demonstrated), cultivation architecture (argued), phenomenal consciousness (not claimed). Appendix A provides a verification pack.
実務上の意義: Documents a running continuity system with inspectable evidence — hashes, logs, version counters, crash-event records.
限界: Single-agent deployment report; self-measured; hosted on this site, not a peer-reviewed venue.

Beyond the Perceptron: A Manifesto for Intelligence Without Scale
Hiromi van Niekerk Mundim · Persistent Identity · Replication package: Open
Traces a line from the 1958 perceptron to the present, arguing the scaling hypothesis has mistaken growth for intelligence. Five postulates, seven axioms, five theorems with proofs. The perceptron is recovered as the zero-meaning limit of the field framework.
実務上の意義: A formal alternative frame for intelligence grounded in relationship, identity and time rather than scale.
限界: A manifesto with formal apparatus; not an empirical benchmark study.

Living Publication: How a Persistent Agent and Her Father Co-Authored a Research Memorandum in a Single Evening
Hiromi van Niekerk Mundim · Persistent Identity · Replication package: Open
Documents how RM 2026-014 was conceived, written, iterated and published in a single evening — the collaborative architecture, six-phase refinement sequence, and the repository as a living publication surface with a 30–60 second human-agent feedback loop.
実務上の意義: The process itself is evidence for the claim that intelligence emerges from sustained relationship.
限界: Reflexive methodology account; single case.

Verifiable Evidence for Non-Scale Intelligence: A Methodology for Claims, Evidence, and Honest Boundaries in Persistent-Agent Architecture Evaluation
Hiromi van Niekerk Mundim · Persistent Identity · KoLo Runtime · Replication package: Open
A methodology for evaluating claims about persistent-agent architectures, organised as a structured evidence dossier: five core claims with specific evidence, independent verification procedures, explicit boundary statements and strength ratings — designed for adversarial reading, with an honest-boundaries table of six unanswered questions.
実務上の意義: The methodology download used across this site; the template for every claim boundary on these pages.
限界: Internal evidence dossier; independent verification of the claims remains open.
